I am just so excited that it is fall. :) Cooler weather, new TV shows, birthdays and holidays to anticipate. And a new niece that we are all eagerly anticipating.
I recently purchased a couple of lovely new fall scrapping kits by a new-to-me designer, Lliella Designs, at Funky Playground Designs. (Lots of designs there, lol.) I couldn't resist her new kits, Fall Flavors and Fall Frolics Folly. Very cute stuff! Anyway, I decided to scrap a picture that of us at the Farmer's Market almost a year ago... my girls look a *little* different but not that different!
We are really enjoying some nice cooler weather around here, though it still feels fairly humid. So I think we will probably be making a return trip there soon, to buy more mini-pumpkins and some big ones. I'd also love to buy some mums to put out front. And perhaps a wreath or some fall outdoor decorations, whatever I can find for cheap.
On the homeschooling front, we are having a lot of fun with reading "If you give a mouse a cookie." It holds a lot of appeal for both girls. At Charlotte's baby shower I received a copy of the book along with the stuffed mouse from the story. So he has been her constant companion since we started this week! Yesterday we baked cookies, which were quickly consumed. She also had fun making a little "bed" for her mouse, just like in the story. We read it again tonight, twice, and then she worked on the letter "M" in her Get Ready for the Code Primer... until I got stumped because I didn't have the teacher's manual! But I got that figured out so we're ready to go.
We also had a really fun day with our friends at an enrichment meeting for our LLL group. My friend Sherri was gracious enough to come and do a "make and take" with our group, allowing everyone to create a fall card. We also made pizza for scratch! Michelle, the hostess, did the dough for everyone, and the kids worked on their own crusts. We also discussed how to create nursing necklaces as a group fundraiser, since some beads have been donated to the group. It was just a really nice day to hang out with everyone, and we always enjoy visiting at Michelle's house- she does amazingly well with a crowd, stays very calm! (of course, she could be pulling her hair out when we leave... but I doubt it.)
Tomorrow will be a catch up and clean up day around here, with some more mouse-themed adventures I'm sure. I'm finally over my cold, so I think I'm up for tackling Mt. Laundry and our bathrooms... or I might decide to play hooky from that and celebrate Take a Child Outside Week... or maybe do both. :)
